The red bars represent only those who lived to be older than 1 year. The ages shown above the bars are for the red bars, which are slightly higher than the blue. The average life spans decrease in recent years because many of the people born in those decades are still living. If informtion is kept up to date those numbers will increase over time.

Welcome to the Bunting Family Tree. This site traces the descendants of John Bunting's (1761-1846) five sons who emigrated to the United States from Quainton, Buckinghamshire, England in the 1830's and his daughter who remained in Quainton.

Clicking on the Continue button will display the family tree information. You can select a name from the pulldown and that person will be displayed either as the 'Husband' or the 'Wife' depending on their gender. The rest of the family, parents and children, will be added in. The information that displays on the right and left corresponds to the person in the Husband or Wife fields. You can also click on a person's name and then that person will become the new Husband or Wife and all data will update accordingly. Due to the large number of names the pulldown takes a few seconds to display, be patient.

There is a search feature that allows you to search for individuals based on a string of text. You can optionally search for people's names, for information in the notes about individuals, the text associated with pictures and military service. Just key in the desired search string and click on the 'Search' button (do not use the RETURN key!). Matches will be returned to the pulldown located under the button. The searches are not case sensitive.

You can use the arrow icons to move to a previously viewed individual. The left arrow will take you back to the previous person viewed and the right arrow will move you forward. Click on the reset icon to clear the previous persons viewed list.

Toward the lower right portion of the window a list of people who were born on today's date will be displayed

There is a button below the selected individual labelled 'Target'. Clicking on this will set the selected individual as the 'target' individual. After this the relationship of this person to a newly selected person will be displayed. This feature only works for individuals who are direct descendants of William Bunting.

There is a button labeled 'First Cousins'. If you click on this button a list of the selected person's first cousins will be displayed in the notes section below the name. This button will display on the left or right depending on the gender of the selected person. The list will contain the name of the selected person and all brothers and sisters as well as the cousins. Therefore it becomes a list of all cousins of that generation.

The default starting person is Roland Lee Bunting. He is responsible for accumulating the family tree data.

The Opera, Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari browsers should all work. Internet Explorer is extremely slow to load and searches are very slow, it is not recommeneded. Some update quicker than others. Firefox is probably the best option.

If you scroll down to the end of the list of names you will see many of the names perceeded by a small 'TM'. This typically occurs when there is minimal data about an individual. For example, when there is no first name. The TM forces these entries to sort to the bottom of the list. It is expected that these would rarely be selected so they have been moved to the bottom.

Two new viewing options have been added. One displays a classic ancestory tree with horizontal text. The second displays a tree with vertical text. They may take a few seconds to load. Once loaded the names can be clicked on to see additional information. To switch to a different view click on the "Home" button to return to this page. Then you can select the desired view.

This feature only works for individuals who are descendants of William Bunting(1723-1807), grandfather of the five Bunting brothers who emigrated to the United States.
